Lonebeatle The extender cable does not flash, it must be extended towards the direction the transmitter box is, the receiving box must be preferably on top of the receiving media (cable box, dvd, stereo) or as close as possible to the infrared receiver. The transmitter should be on an open space to transmit freely, sometimes a quick double tap on the remote key makes the pair work. I have both connected to USB chargers, if the blue lights never flash then you received a faulty pair, sorry.
