The price is pretty good, but as others have stated, the wiring order on the plug needs to be checked and probably corrected before you try to use them. The plug wiring may be appropriate for some original application (whatever that is), but it's not standard, and you'll likely fry them if you don't get it right. It's easy enough to correct. I'm taking a star off since this info should be presented in the product information.

Q: Can the motor operate at 12V?

ARC Ido not believe so... I did some research and I believe that this motor upgrade will only handle a 2S Lipo@7.2V. Not 100% sure on that... 96%, hope that helps.!

If you've got a kit with the 180 motor, you need these--the plastic ones that come with the kit will fail if your kid loads the truck down with rocks. They fit perfectly.

Over all, quite nice. However, my son loaded down the back with rocks and tried to drive it up-hill. the plastic drive shaft to the rear axle twisted apart. Oh well, I had bought a metal one to put on in the future and just swapped it out--no problem. Then he tried to drive over a shoe on the rug. The tires didn't slip, and a tooth broke off one of the gears in the transmission. Now I've got a heavier duty two-speed transmission on order. I didn't anticipate upgrading the drive train immediately, but I guess if you're going to be hard on it, you might want to just order the kit and some upgraded parts right from the start. Really, the parts in the kit should be up the task of handling the 180 motor that comes with the kit, so I'm knocking a few stars off of 'Quality'.

Two of these (purple color) were sent free. I don't remember if it was a special deal with orders over a certain amount, or a consolation prize because my order was placed on backorder. My order was for an RC truck. Anyway...they were a curious distraction for about 5 minutes. I'm not sure what I'll do with them...maybe I could use them as a driver for the RC truck when it gets here?
