Q: 36cm x 57cm but only 3W? is that correct?

BG181554142 It's 147 by 114mm, and the Output is 1.25W, 400mA at 3.1Volts. I bought two and both had same performance.

3.1V at 400mA on a sunny day. It will charge cycle lights, and a Google Pixel 6 slowly charges, however 2 different phone powerbanks rejected the supply as being too low voltage to charge. 3.1v and 400mA is approx 1.25Watts so less than 50% of claimed 3W output, but you probably suspected this, hence you're reading the reviews. Panels appear to prefer laying on a horizontal surface for general light rather than directly facing sun, when the current peculiarly drops, so they are efficient and no doubt helped by the dimple coating which helps collect the photons. 147mm long by 114wide, roughly the size of a male hand. On the back the USB wire has been heat glued in, so it's reasonably well connected by would require some extra strain relief (tape, or more glue gun glue). Arrived in UK in approx 12 days. Paid four GBP, and bought two, so the values above are measured across both panels. The results were near identical for each so they are consistent.

Q: Why do they require washing? What is it they are covered in that makes this such a necessity please? Do we need to wear gloves to handle them?

It took a while to find the app hence 1 star loss, but once installed it was amazing. You can jumble the cube up and the app graphic shows you exactly the moves to solve it. It knows exactly what the positions are. I thought we might be able to confuse it but no, it has very good sensors. The cube's movement is loose (in a good way) which allows for quick movement. I bought for children who found them entertaining. For the price it is a good upgrade to a familiar old toy.

Once in a while the price drops so much making these phones incredible value. Perfect phone, although quite a bit taller and thicker than my previous Xiaomi Note 5. Beautiful screen and incredible cameras.
