BG102238521 Itamazes me that you 've supposedly rated this product with 5 stars despite the rather negative aspect.

First let me say that he battery that's included is fine. People just aren't removing the small adhesive insulating tape on the negative end of the battery. It's easy to miss. The light itself is average at best. You only get 1600 lumens if you do a spring by-pass modification to the light yourself. Progressing forward through the light levels is easy, but reversing through them requires critical timing. Hold the button a just little too long and it stays the same. Release the button a little too soon and it goes up to the next level. It does work, but difficult to time it just right most of the time. The threads were extremely dirty (dust and tiny metal filings). I cleaned and lubed them, problem solved. The lanyard is nicely designed with a quick release clip but what's the point if you can only get to go over your fingers. There's no way the average person will get it over the rest of their hand unless they are less than 10 years old or have extremely small hands. My hands are not large, not even a little bit. Not impressed at all.

BG102238521 Compared it to S2 OP reflector with XM-L2 T6. Beams were similar but the Cree seemed slightly warmer than the 5000K SST40. Next to a Fenix PD36R ~6500K SST40 with a bigger SMO reflector it was clearly warmer tint.

I own a few flashlights. This one's not the best but the tint is decent and I just love its simple design. No weird shapes and heat dissipating fins. It's what a flashlight should be like. You need to turn it on/off quickly when it blinks at around 5 sec on Low and it switches to the next mode (3/5 modes). Only drawback for me is that the half-press takes very little force and sometimes you don't even know if it happened or not. The full press works perfectly. Bright enough for everyday use. This one doesn't get too hot imho.
