mwarren@larrygonce The PMS5003 sensor module (used in this item ID:1588436) reviewed by https://aqicn.org/sensor/pms5003-7003/ was opened after "running for several months outdoor in continous mode" and the found that "The good news is that Plantower managed to do a pretty good mechanical design which prevents dust accumulation on the front-side of the PCB ... where laser and diode are mounted. Compared to the dust accumulation on the Dylos, that guarantees a much better lifetime and data accuracy over time."

I have used this to find leaks in my dust collection system - it works, no problem. What was not clear in the product description is that ithis device is powered through a usb-to-micro-usb cable. That requires a "wall wart" power supply or a laptop or other source of usb output.
