pattarom As far as I know, someone has successfully cut 6 millimeters of plywood. It needs a lot of passes and a nozzle with compressed air that blows over the cut, otherwise, after a few passes, the wood starts to burn. pattarom Usually any NEMA 17 motor should run flawless. You only must check the connector pins position, because pins position is not a standard between manufaturers. If old motor is not burn, you can use a multimeter set in ohm measurement, to discover where motor coils are connected. To find a coil check what pins give continuity (or zero ohm). Compare the position of the old motor with the new one and modify the cable accordingly, changing the position of the wires in the connector. If the motor rotate in reverse, simply swap, between them, the wires of one of the coils (pratically invert the polarity of one of the two coils).

pattarom You can adjust power to fit the material thru the software. There are no driver (if we not consider the driver for USB port). The engraver use GRBL standard, there are many program that you can use (for example the free LaserWeb). Istruction manual guide you to use a simplier software GRBL (yes program, protocol and firmware loaded into mainboard have the same name)

pattarom Tecnically: yes. You can use a permanent marker to darken a blank PCB and then use the laser to clean the marker areas where copper must be eroded by acid. There are some videos on YT that show this process.
