I·ordered·three·controllers.·One·of·them·has·a·really·anemic·beeper·that·is·almost·impossible·to·hear.·So,·this·is·something·to·test·for·when·you·receive·the·controller.·Don't·let·the·failing·beeper·lull·you·into·a·false·sense·of·security.·Fortunately,·beepers·are·dirt·cheap·and·that's·easy·to·fix. Next,·after·replacing·the·beeper,·I·noticed·that·the·fan-failure·alarm·kept·going·off·non-stop.·Turns·out,·I·am·using·8"·PC·case·fans,·and·those·fans·don't·actually·turn·very·fast·even·at·100%·duty·cycle.·They·max·out·at·about·800·RPM.·So,·I·need·to·set·them·to·about·50%·duty·cycle·for·the·controller·to·shut·off·the·alarm.·I·wish·the·RPM·for·the·alarm·was·user·adjustable.·375·RPM·is·definitely·too·high·for·larger·fans. As·others·have·stated,·the·controller·cannot·turn·the·fans·off·completely.·This·is·not·a·problem·for·my·use·case.·But·it·could·be·a·real·problem·for·other·users. If·a·fan·temporarily·fails,·it·would·be·smart·if·the·controller·briefly·switched·to·100%·duty·cycle·until·the·fan·starts·spinning·again.·This·helps·with·fans·that·have·stuck·because·of·a·seized·bearing.·Unfortunately,·as·far·as·I·can·tell,·this·controller·doesn't·do·so.·So,·pay·special·attention·to·failed·fans·and·make·sure·to·hook·up·the·beeper.·You·don't·want·your·hardware·to·fry. Configuring·the·controller·isn't·too·difficult.·But·the·English·description·is·a·little·hard·to·understand.·I·made·up·a·better·description·for·my·own·records: During·normal·operation,·the·display·cycles·through·showing·the·RPM·(in·10/min)·and·temperatures·(in·°C)·for·one·or·for·both·fans·(see·below).·The·status·LEDs·signal·which·value·is·currently·being·shown. Configure·the·minimum·speed·by·pressing·“OK”·and·adjusting·speed·for·FAN·1.·The·value·is·a·percentage·duty·cycle.·Actual·RPM·depends·on·the·fan·and·must·be·verified·manually.·Press·“OK”·to·confirm,·then·adjust·minimum·speed·for·FAN·2.·Press·“OK”·one·more·time·to·save·the·settings.·Please·note·that·speeds·should·be·higher·than·375·RPM·as·anything·below·that·threshold·is·considered·a·failed·fan·causing·the·beeper·to·go·off. If·the·settings·aren’t·saved·by·pressing·the·final·“OK”,·then·15s·later,·the·controller·reverts·to·normal·operation·and·discards·the·changed·settings. Long·press·and·hold·the·“OK”·button·to·adjust·separate·temperature·thresholds·for·both·fans.·Set·the·bottom·threshold·for·FAN·1·in·°C.·It·is·displayed·as·L**.·Then·press·“OK”·to·adjust·the·upper·temperature·threshold·H**.·Between·these·two·temperatures,·the·fan·gradually·ramps·up·from·its·minimum·speed·to·its·maximum·speed.·Press·“OK”·to·confirm·and·then·configure·whether·the·beeper·should·warn·about·fan·failure·(“BON”·or·“BOF”)·.·Repeat·for·FAN·2.·A·final·“OK”·saves·the·new·values.·L**·and·H**·must·be·at·least·5°C·apart. If·the·“OK”·button·is·pressed·upon·power-on·of·the·controller,·it·is·possible·to·enable·(“2ON”)·or·disable·(“2OF”)·the·display·for·the·second·fan.·Press·“OK”·to·save·settings·and·to·return·to·regular·operation.·Please·note·that·this·setting·only·affects·the·information·that·is·shown·on·the·display.·It·does·not·affect·operation·of·the·fans.·Most·notably,·if·you·don’t·disable·the·beeper·(“BOF”)·for·the·second·fan,·it·will·still·keep·going·off. Disconnect·the·fans·and·press·both·“+”·and·“-”·upon·power-on·to·go·into·advanced·settings·mode.·You·can·configure·the·controller·for·normal·operation·“F-1”·or·for·reverse·operation·“F2”.·Then·press·“OK”·to·save·settings.
