The order arrived quickly, two days earlier than the stated deadline. The packaging is good. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the plastic of the housing, it has chain lubrication that is not very well solved, at the minimum oil supply, too much comes out on the chain and the lower part of the housing. The power of the motor is supposedly 5000W, this is not possible, in reality it is maybe 500

electronicNerd The maximum range is not 40 meters but only 30 meters (tested to 29.97meters, every distance above blanked out the display), tested last night where I could see the red spot from the laser. You should change your adv. to: distance from 3cm to 30m. For me it\'s OK, I only need up to 25 meters, as a distance-meter for shooting-range.

Really tiny unit, it seems to work perfect, maybe missing tips on how to mount the handline :-) :-O

electronicNerd Becarefull, it can be adjusted up to more than 17V, which is OK if the connected circuits can accept that high voltage

electronicNerd As an add-on to above: I have tested the UV-5R, with NA-771 antenna, to reach up to and longer than 20 km reaching 2m (145Mhz) repeaters at that distance :-)

For the price I have chosen to buy a few more along with some sets of FRS and PMR (EU) walkies for the kids. Program them to FRS and PMR channels on low-power (only the double of what allowed) (as well as a set of the channels on high-power) and use as such. If the kids get out of reach, you can always, shortly, switch to the high-power channel and shout them up ;-) :-) Secondary, I'm a licensed HAM
