Q: Is it possible to set the switch to run on battery power only when the utility power has failed e.g load shedding? It seems that battery power is the default source and utility power cannot be the default source?

seabaughs Not this device. Ther are many other devices that will do what you want. This unit is rare in that it gives batteries priority. It will be easier to find what you're looking for than what this does. Be very carefull connecting anything to your home circuits.

Q: Hi there!! I have three phase electrical power: may i use two switches in parallel, getting power from the same source ( solar inverter 4000w) and applying to the first two phese?(each one on one phase) to cover almost all of unit s, except the heavy ones that gets from the third one? seabaughs You CANNOT combine two different sources of 120AC to get 220VAC. The cycles have to be precisely 180 degrees out from each other. It could only be done it the two switches were linked and synchronized. Google "What is electrical frequency and why does it matter?"

seabaughs Watts divided by Volts = Amps, 4500 watts divided by 220V = 20.45A So, you'd need to wire it to a double 25 amp breaker similar to your electric oven or dryer.

seabaughs You cant. Even if you could, you wouldn't get it hot enough.
