Q: are there motor soldering pads (if I want to use single ESCs)?

PBlowup If you want to use individual ESC's you will need a PDB for power to you ESC's, I believe the pads marked S1 to S4 would be where you connect the signal wires from the ESC's. If you need ESC telemetry you connect to the RX6 pad. If you want an easier build a 4 in 1 compatible ESC would be a better option. I purchased this board and found that the motors for S1 to S4 are not pinned out to solder pads you can only access these via the ESC plug, however motor S5 to S8 do have connections on solder pads you would need to re-map the motors via the CLI in betaflight to change the motors to S1 to S4.

PBlowup Thewire is a bit small for motors, these cables are used for connection to UART ports on flight controllers.
