ales_ Itis reinforced with some kind of fibers. It is definitely not steel wires, like the original belts at many 3D printers.

ales_ No. Get a capacitive probe. That works with glass.

ales_ It is solid plastic, but the strength seems to be adequate for 8mm linear bearing.
