very strong steel. look like oem but better material. they are very tight and need some break in period to smooth out. these are extremely tight to fit. make sure you have drilled proper holes to accept screws when you install this to the aluminum main driveshaft. I recommend checking your gear slack, if there is no movement at all, you need to loosen the fit so the gears will mesh properly with the diffs.
