The user interface is not great, but it does give a indication of runtime in the currently selected mode. It resets brightness setting when turning on and off the long beam. And it can only display battery level when shining, not before enabling the LED. All in all a great product, the user interface is rarely a problem, as I usually just turn it on and leave it on the same setting all the time. And it is super nice That the display shows difference to run time between modes.
