_Richard_ No, the clamps are not grounded, but if you want them grounded, i's an easy fix - just pull a wire through the arms.

_Richard_ Camera is connected and powered? For me switch works just fine - I use the unit to monitor two old hardware samplers and it works just fine. Please have another view into the manual, where the colors of the wires and their use is described.

_Richard_ Received mine two weeks ago and mine shows a mistake of 1,9 degree - I can turn it around on a 100% level benxch and it always shows - 1,9 degree. Did not find a way to correct that and do not (yet?) want to open the case.

_Richard_ there is one wire that tells the unit that there is a rear cam, when set to 12V - have a look at the manual. Leave it unconnected (or vconnect to ground) and you will be fine. I think I remember it was the pink wire, but better have a look at the manual.
