Yeah the servo works and seems a decent piece of kit but it's advertised as a replacement for the 5-wire servos in the stock wltoys 12 and 14 scale buggies and it's woefully underpowered for anything larger than maybe 1:16. Highly suggest you dig a bit deeper if you're upgrading an older 124 or 144 brushed version.

So don't let the product listing fool you, this isn't FULL METAL UPGRADE. It is brushless, and there are some metal bits on it, but you're not getting a full metal conversion or suspension and there are other stock plastic pieces that could have come directly off a wl144001 or whatever. This particular kit comes with extra fatty truggy wheels, which honestly are the ones that should come with this model since the wheelbase is so short. It's very hard to control on the smaller tires even after adjusting the toe and installing a droop screw to lower the ride height. The diffs were properly greased (a definite improvement over the wltoys effort) but overall everything is almost identical to a cheaper WL model. I have a fully metal upgraded 124019 that looks more 'professional' but is heavier so there is a tradeoff. The brushless motor is suffcient but they went very small and could've used a slightly bigger ESC and still had some room left over for a bigger battery - the stock Lipo gave me less than 10 minutes of run time and the battery tray would just barely NOT fit a larger 2200mh 2s that comes with the WLtoys buggies. Even with the extra juice this isn't going to be setting any speed records, like I said it's very hard to control even on a flat surface with the smaller wheels. With the bigger soft tires on it's more forgiving and marginally easier to keep pointed, and it'll pop a wheelie on demand before bouncing off into the distance. The metal arms are solid and keep the dogbones from getting bent when you have a tumble, which is a problem with the stock plastic suspension models. Soooo it's a tough call but... If you're looking for something a bit more durable than the stock WLtoys units this is a reasonable stand-in BUT if you're looking to advance your skills I'd reccommend picking up some select metal bits for 124019 or 018 and upgrade that to brushless instead. Maybe a touch more expensive in the end but more reliable and there are a ton more parts.
