mario Hi, if the UK voltage is 220V-240V 50-60Hz, then when using an adapter to a UK socket it can be used. There is no other reason why it should not work.

ales_ If it's really 63/37 eutectic alloy, then it has the melting point 183°C. Also, it must be 100% solid under that temperature and 100% liquid above that temp. If the solder only softens around 190°C and has paste-like consistency and starts to flow at much higher temperature, then it isn't anywhere near Sn63Pb37 or Sn60Pb40 and it's typical chinese crap solder. 60/40 is nearly eutectic alloy and melts between 183°C and 190°C. Under 183°C is solid and above 190°C is liquid. See "eutectic system" at wikipedia. (Unfortunatelly, it's overcomplicated and too much scientific at English wikipedia. Much more straightforward explanation is at Czech Wikipedia.)
