After months of flying a whoop FPV and after hours practicing acro on a simulator I thought this drone would be good next step for outdoors. After binding, going into Betaflight to setting up channels and ranges I struggled a bit to get it to arm. Made sure the props were pushed down. One prop's hole was too large and kept popping off when trying to hover. Put a new prop that fit and flew it around LOS. Seemed fine. On connecting the next battery the left rear motor started immediately and stopped after a few seconds. Then on connection of the next battery the right front motor started doing the same thing. I tried to do a little FPV. Once flying I lost the image. I tried to change channels. I walked quite a distance away. When the drone was not flying there was signal but upon taking off it was lost. Trying to figure out why the motors were starting, thinking it was mixer issue, I did "something", not sure what, and the quad went full throttle and hit a wall. The plastic cracked completely at the "weak" spot of an arm. Having bought the "Fly more" package I had another frame. The board is soft mounted. It can slide out. The points where the motors connect are accessible but the points where the VTX connect are not. The green and yellow wires (VIN VOUT) pass up between the plastic. In order to remove the board and to install it in the new frame I desoldered these two wires from the VTX. When doing this I noticed the black wire was breaking off its pin. I installed the board in the new frame and soldered the motors in. At this point I checked the installation. The motors behaved as before, left rear and right front starting immediatly when the battery connected and then stopping. Then I soldered the green and yellow wires back to the camera and resoldered the black wire that had broken loose. I think I may have shorted the pins because when attaching the battery "something" happened and all the motors started spinning and never stopped. I've read that the rating and or quality of the FETs might be at the origin of the initial problem with the motors. As for the video problems I'm wondering if it was due to the faulty ground connection. I still can connect the board to Betaflight and then connect the battery. Receiver still works. Gyros work. Motors don't respond correctly. On a positive note I can say that thanks to this experience I'm learning more than I would have if things worked smoothly.
