Very good for the money. I now have two and just ordered two more for my other two helis. Replacing Tarot, my old favourites. The only thing missing that would be nice is a bail out option, but not going to get that at this price! Getting the software (VBAR original) to config this can be a little tricky, it's out there on the net though but a little bit of searching is required! Software is good and easy to use, setup guide is not well written but can be followed. Consider the bluetooth module, excellent with an android device at the field for fine tuning. SBUS or Spektrum satellite compatible out the box. Note, a slight modification is required if you want to use a governor sensor, I've not done this yet but will be on the next ones I receive. All in all, good all round performance. 5 STARS for banggood for an amazing price.

I dont want to be negative about this great board, but I think it is worth pointing out that Banggood do a thinner board that fits into a breadboard giving the ability to connect to all pins, and the other board has built in SD Card. For me these two options are a great advantage. I thought I'd add a note here because I have 3 different type 38 pin without SD card 36 pin version and this 38 pin with SD card. This is the only one that fits on my breadboard allowing at least one connection to each pin. The others are too wide which I find a strange oversight for a "development board". So if you really are developing this is the board to order!! In the picture this board is the one on the left :) Kev

OK, I finally got it working after realising that I'd not changed the wire antenna for the larger circuit board one (i'm in the UK maybe that makes a difference). I'm just using a 5v FTDI interface for now and the terminal program called putty(free). I've wired Pin 2 = Ground, Pin 4 = 5v from FTDI, Pin 7 = FTDI Rx, Pin 8 = FTDI Tx, then loop Pins 1 & 14 to boot the board on power up (important to ground pin 14!). Put in a SIM (with no PIN required!). Connect FTDI to USB. After short pause one LED show be solid, second LED should be flashing. Start Putty, default speed was 115200 on Serial connect, for me COM3 (yours will be different). Type AT and press enter, response should be OK. then type these slowly, a few second pause between each commend: at - press enter OK at+cmgf=1 - press enter OK at+cscs="gsm" - press enter ERROR at+cscs="gsm" - press enter OK at+cmgs="07799xxxxxx" - press enter (the mobile number) > hello - press CTRL & Z together to signal send, enter does not work! +CMGS: 11 OK An SMS message should be sent

bionicbone Some of this is really helpfully. The picture looks the same as the board I received and I'm assuming the pinouts are correct as marked (still need to check). But be aware that the circuit diagram is not 100% correct given it shows only one LED and the board in the picture has two LEDs. It makes me suspicious if there are other issues with the circuit diagram and since vcc voltage and Rx Tx voltage needs some reductions for 5v use I need to check if this is the same as the diagram here.
