The rating is based on the price I paid for a Android 11 smartphone. Umidigi uses stock Android software and added in this case only software to handle the AI thermometer and the shortcut key on the left side of the device. The pros for this device besides the low price are a large 6.53" screen, a large 5150 mA battery which can be fast-charged in little more than an hour. (I missed the exact time when my phone finished charging, when I checked it was already charged to 100%.), a 3.5 mm audio socket which supports head sets and allows you to use the FM radio, dual nano-SIM plus 1 SD-card tray. Both SIMs can use 4G and VoLTE simultaniously. The device had 64 GB UFS 2.1 flash memory, and 3 GB LPDDR 4x RAM memory. The main prozessor is a Mediatek Helio G25 with 8 ARM64 A53 cores running at 2 GHz. It's not the fastest device available, I have to admit. The display is a IPS panel with 1600*720 pixels. One cannot expect a full HD OLED display for a price like this. The USB port is USB C, supports OTG and 10 W fast charging. There's a finger print sensor at the back of the phone. It comes with a pre-applied screen protector and a transparent silicon bumper, USB-C cable and 10-W charger, so it is ready to use. The cons- no NFC. The cameras are not the best, I don't know why Umidigi even bothers to add two additional cameras to the back when they have even worse sensors then the main camera, which has 13 mega pixels. There's only one (mono) speaker. Well, I am not into mobile gaming, and I still prefer a real camera where I can set the apperture, can use a 8x zoom lens, so the Umidigi A9 is more than sufficient to me for mobile communication, internet, navigation and so on. The stock ROM is available from the umidigi website, which will make it easy to obtain root access some day.
