This helicopter is great value! 3 tiny servos, a speed controller, a SFHSS protocol receiver and flight controller, some spares, a screw driver, a battery, a USB 2 port battery charger AND all the other bits that go together to make this helicopter a helicopter for less than £50. A superb bargain!
One of the servos had a problem, it was sticking randomly and getting very hot. Luckily I bought a spare one and replacing it enabled me to set it up really well. Banggood have already awarded me some points to use to enable me to buy another servo as a replacement. Thank you Banggood for that!
It was almost set up properly out of the box. I have to level the swash plate accurately and adjust the height off it a little to get zero pitch at mid stick.
I am getting familiar with the gryo settings. Currently when 3D mode is enabled it is very stable and will hover in one place hands free for a few seconds indoors before wandering away slowly. Not bad at all for a little helicopter.
With the gyro off in 6G mode it is very agile and sensitive. I think I need to tame it down it little by using a slightly higher level of gyro sensitivity!.
I don't do 3D flying or upside down, at least not in real life, I can do it in AccuRC. (An RC helicopter simulator) with no problems....Anyway I can see that it will be more than happy to flip and roll and do most 3D helicopter moves.
I have been looking into upgrading the firmware in the ESC to BlHeli firmware. This will enable many more features in the ESC and will enable a much higher head speed if needed.
I bought this helicopter to be able to do some mild 3D moves in real life and to build my skills and confidence when I fly my Trex 450L Dominator!
I think we are going to get along just fine!
