The COB is both unique and nice - very bright, but the main XP-E type LED is a horrible cool blue white, and the classic "next mode" memory doesn't time out even over several minutes - not sure if it ever times out. The quality of the host is like most $2 to $4 lights - thin aluminum, sharp pointy threads, and the classic cheap press fit plastic retainer on the switch. Also it's a hollow pill, floating thin MCPCB. Basically you can't expect much at this price. Good thing is the main head XP-E style LED can be easily replaced, and you could probably add some heat sinking for the MCPCB, or replace with a copper DTP one.
Would love to this this COB design in a better quality host with a better quality driver.
