So I had a little problem getting these working right away. The driver that was installed on my MacBook Pro was working for OS X El Capitan, but when I installed macOS Sierra 10.12 just plugging the little node in caused kernel panic and shut the Mac down.
The fix was easy, go to this website:
https://tzapu.com/ch340-ch341-serial-adapters-macos-sierra/
and update the kernel! Now I just need to figure out how to get the Arduino IDE to upload applications..
I'd say this isn't product for you if you want it to just *work* out of the box. But when you do get it working you'll have a lot of fun.
