This was my second order of the function generator and I must say that there is a big improvement in housing what is seen in the picture (left - new housing, right - old housing). It is very easy to put assembled Function generator into the housing. There is some additional improvement in housing, but it is transparent with engraved text which is not clearly seen (maybe another color or simply put some paper sticker with selecting marks for setting jumpers.

REXX5000 could some black paper be stuck under where the writing on the case is so ot could be seen more batteries you said. I have one of these little generators but haven't put it together yet. have a DSO shell 1500 oscilloscope kit build here for over a year now and haven't put it together yet too. haven't need them for Amy jobs a picked up since a started learning electronics a few years now. but like your idea of the paper to see the writing. 🙂
