If you have an analog voltage input on a flight controller or telemetry receiver this is a very neat current sensor that adds virtually no weight since it also the ESC power connector. For example with an FrSky receiver that has an A1 or A2 analog input you can display the current as an equivalent voltage. 50Amps actual current = 5.00V on the display when using a scaling factor of 20.5 on my D8R Plus receiver. It is a simple device using just a 0.5mOhm sense resistor and an op amp to amplify the voltage. At high currents it has a bit of thermal drift because it gets warm but it is surprisingly linear up to 80 Amps and the offset is only about 1 Amp. The first picture shows the actual output voltage vs. current tested on an accurate constant current variable load. The second shows the Taranis A2 telemetry display value vs. current when the scale factor was 20.5 and the offset set to -0.63 on my X9D Plus transmitter. In practice it's a simple way to monitor the current as you just multiply the display voltage by 10x mentally. Not quite as straightforward as a true FrSky telemetry current sensor, and you cannot use the calculated consumption function - but it's a lot lighter and cheaper.
