The X8R has connectors for SBus, Smartport and 8 channel outputs. The smartport can be used for connecting different sensors like FLVSS (battery voltage), GPS (altitude, speed, location and time and date), Variosensor (altitude) and so on. Output pins are available for 8 (servo) outputs. When you need more channels you can use the SBus output for all 16 channels. You could also connect a second X8R to get 16 channels output without using the SBus. The new antennas with pcb's give a little bit of extra range. Very good product for a good price. Works great, a lot of features and connectivity and telemetry is built in, RX signal strength and RX battery voltage can be monitored on your Taranis or Horus TX. This can be extended with sensors like mentioned above.
