Whetstone is worthless. The grinding surface is not flat. From 400 grit side its concave and form 1000 grit side its convex. Sharpening a knife its impossible on this whetstone.

BG455322435 haymate all stones come the same way they assume you have a surface grinder to make them flat i found this out when i bought a set of precision ground flat stones for use on precision ground surfaces

Paul @BG455322435 goodto know! just getting in to hand engraving and will need to keep my tools sharp. I think I'd try flattening the stones on my surface plate by hand, however.
