Looks-wise the remote is as advertised. The casing seems to be sturdy enough: it hardly budged, nor make alarming noises (or any for that matter) while twisting and pressing on the casing with moderate force. The clicking of the buttons also left a good first impression: a solid, robust clicking-sound. The manual: OK! clear instructions on how to program the remote. Includes a list of a bunch of compatible devices, but while mine wasnt listed, i had no problem getting it to work with mine using its original remote. I tested with one paired device for range; unobstructed, it functioned well up to only about 35 meters. While 35 meters is by no means terrible, it is well below what is being advertised. I dont think this is a battery-issue, since the LED on the remote burns as bright as can be expected, But i could be wrong, and it could also have to do with the receiver on the device. The finish of the colored bits (front,back, and buttons) looks really nice, and feels grippy. the 3rd piece of the casing is made out of a cast piece of white plastic. Its rim shows on the sides of the remote, and the outer-edge, and only the outer edge is spray-painted silver. When you look at the remote from the bottom or at the keyring-hole, the white plastic clearly shows. Pretty sloppy imo - either paint the whole thing or dont bother at all... i would have been fine with white. So far, the only real issue i have with this remote is kind of trivial: it is pretty much impossible to thread the provided cord+keyring through the hole on the bottom of the remote. the hole/eye on the remote is just ill-designed, making nigh-impossible to thread anything through it! I gave it a good 5 minutes before giving up. All in all, first impression: not in the least disappointed, but could do with some finetuning. looks ok, feels sturdy.
